WE are the work

WE are in a trauma pile up.

Our shared history of hierarchical oppression has reached a threshold that can no longer be contained. The vitriol and hypocrisy is unbearable and WE, the people, continue to be trapped in unthinkable situations.

It doesn’t matter how old you are, what gender you identify as, the color of your skin, who you love, how you pray, or where you live; if you are human today, this is what you are dealing with, and it is why you feel so shitty.

This pattern will only be broken when WE take the time to intentionally question why WE feel the way WE do.

A better reality is available, but WE will have to create it together.

“Through the weaving together of individual, familial, and societal narratives, generation WE invites us to surrender the arbitrary structures that confine and limit the truth of who we are.

Through vulnerable self reflection, Abby Kamen presents the reader with a call to action to love one another where we are, thus enabling us all to become so much more.” - Bailey Hampton LMFT

heal with art

My art has played an enormous role in my healing journey. I adopted the camera as my muse and let the visual beckon me to continuously expand the lens of my perspective. Each offering is an expression of my quest to more fully inhabit my thoughts and emotions. I call my process “the art of becoming humane.” I hope it will help you connect more fully with your humanity and activate your participation in creating a better reality.

a bit about me

I am a writer, artist, creative, and seeker - this is who I have always been. Along the way, I’ve also been a banker, built retail and office space, designed interiors, planned events, fought for hunger relief, participated in social justice movements, and raised a family.

In addition to my own projects, I collaborate with other folks and organizations who are vested in protecting our human rights and providing resources for our mental health and well-being. I live in Louisville, KY.
